Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing Ends Super Mario 3D All-Stars’ Run At The Top

Famitsu’s Japanese chart figures are now in for 28th September – 4th October, revealing that Super Mario 3D All-Stars has fallen from its lofty first place position.

The pesky, evergreen superstar that is Animal Crossing: New Horizons has claimed top spot once again this week, narrowly outselling Mario’s new compilation by just over 2,000 physical units.

The top ten is heavily dominated by Switch titles once again, although PS4 newcomer Crash Bandicoot 4 did manage to wrestle in amongst the Nintendo crowd with a fifth place debut.

Here are the top 10 (first numbers are this week’s estimated sales, followed by total sales):

6) [NSW] Pokémon Sword and Shield (Pokemon Co.) {2019.11.15} – 7.416 / 3.752.771
7) [NSW] Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo) {2018.12.07} – 6.168 / 3.843.036
8) [NSW] Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (Nintendo) {2020.06.05} – 6.143 / 397.338

Switch hardware sales saw a slight bump this week, too, with the original model performing best. Here are this week’s figures, followed by lifetime sales in brackets:

Nintendo Switch: 66,157 (12,728,671)
PlayStation 4: 6,097 (7,654,172)
PlayStation 4 Pro: 442 (1,574,451)
Xbox One S: 12 (21,568)
Xbox One X: 13 (20,847)

Nintendo Switch Lite: 24,936 (2,699,938)
New Nintendo 2DS LL: 1,538 (1,155,947)
New Nintendo 3DS: 30 (5,888,638)
