TAIPEI, Taiwan — A sequence of greater than 20 earthquakes struck the east coast of Taiwan on Wednesday morning, inflicting some injury.
The Central Climate Bureau reported 22 quakes over two hours beginning at 6:52 a.m.
The primary was the most important with a magnitude of 5.2 and struck at a comparatively shallow depth of 5.9 kilometers (3.7 miles). The others ranged from magnitude 3.0 to five.0.
A photograph posted on the Taiwan Apple Every day information web site confirmed the stays of a second flooring wall above a storefront that had fallen to the road and crumbled. The earthquakes have been in Hualien County across the midpoint of the island’s east coast.
